Best Hill Stations Near Delhi Under ₹4,000 — June 2026 Weekend Guide

June in Delhi is the kind of heat that

makes you question your life choices.

You need to leave. But you also need

to not spend your entire month's savings

doing it.

I have been to most of these places.

The ones I have not been to personally

I have verified through people who have.

No made-up itineraries. Just real options

for salaried Indians who want to escape

without breaking the bank.

Lansdowne — The One Nobody Talks About

6 hours from Delhi. Small cantonment town

in Uttarakhand. No crowds. No overpriced

tourist restaurants. Just green hills,

quiet roads and actual peace.

Budget: ₹2,500 all in for 2 days.

Bus both ways: ₹500

Hostel or cheap guesthouse: ₹800

Food 2 days: ₹600

Local sightseeing: ₹400

Miscellaneous: ₹200

This is my personal favourite on this list.

Go before everyone finds out about it.

Chakrata — The Hidden Gem

8 hours from Delhi. Restricted area

so fewer tourists by default. Dense

forests. Tiger Falls is genuinely

impressive.

Budget: ₹2,800 all in.

Less commercial than most options.

Perfect if you want to genuinely disconnect.

---

Kanatal — Adventure on a Budget

7 hours from Delhi. Known for camping

and adventure sports but surprisingly

affordable if you book directly with

local operators instead of through

travel apps.

Budget: ₹3,000 all in including

basic camping.

---

Chopta — Mini Switzerland of India

9 hours but worth it. Known as mini

Switzerland of India. Base for

Tungnath trek if you are feeling

ambitious. Dramatically underpriced

compared to what you get.

Budget: ₹2,800 all in.

---

Naukuchiatal — 9 Cornered Lake

7 hours. Less famous than Nainital

which means half the prices and

none of the crowds.

Boating on the lake. Peaceful walks.

Good food at local dhabas.

Budget: ₹2,700 all in.

---

Khirsu — The Cheapest Option

8 hours. Almost unknown. Apple

orchards. Panoramic Himalayan views.

Extremely cheap accommodation.

Budget: ₹2,200 all in.

The most budget friendly option

on this entire list.

---

Munsiyari — The Long Weekend Special

11 hours so only works for a long

weekend. But the views of the

Panchachuli peaks are something

you will remember for years.

Budget: ₹4,000 all in.

Tips That Apply to All of These

Book bus tickets directly from

redbus or AbhiBus. Never go

through a travel agent.

Stay in hostels or small guesthouses.

Budget ₹350-500 per night.

Read reviews on Google Maps.

Eat at dhabas and local restaurants.

Budget ₹100-150 per meal.

Carry a refillable water bottle.

Packaged water in hill stations

is expensive and wasteful.

Carry a good backpack that fits

everything for 2 days.

The real cost of not going is burnout.

The real cost of going smart is

much less than you think.

Plan one of these this month.
